2023 was a good year. Essays from Death is a Whale were used as course material by three different universities, and I even had a cheeky link from the Guardian.

In 2024, we’ll be looking at global Christianity in the 20th century. It’s the fourth year of our survey of 20th century Christianity: we’ve previously looked at major texts from Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant traditions, and now we’re moving into broader political and social movements. We’ll touch on Christianity and the Nazis, and dig deep into liberation theology.

Our special project on the Horus Heresy will continue through 2024 and likely into 2025.

As usual, the video game series has no set agenda, but I’ve been enjoying writing longer essays over the past few months (like the pair on Assassin’s Creed: Unity). We’ll see how we go.
